Drone Operations Engineer
About the Role
SelfCrops operates a fleet of agricultural drones for crop monitoring, spraying, and precision mapping. We need a Drone Operations Engineer to fly, maintain, and process imagery from our UAV fleet across farms in Tirupati region. Key Responsibilities: • Operate fixed-wing and multi-rotor drones for crop monitoring and aerial spraying missions • Plan and execute drone flights using AeroGCS, DJI Terra, or similar ground control software • Process multispectral imagery to generate NDVI maps, field health indices, and prescription maps • Perform routine drone maintenance, battery management, and pre-flight checks • Train farmers on interpreting drone-generated reports • Maintain flight logs, airspace compliance records, and DGCA documentation
Requirements
• DGCA-approved Remote Pilot Certificate (Type 1 or Type 2) • 2–4 years of commercial drone operations in agriculture or survey • Experience with multispectral cameras (Micasense, Sentera, Parrot) a strong plus • Proficiency in Pix4D, Agisoft Metashape, or DJI Terra for image processing • Willingness to travel to field sites across Tirupati district and Rayalaseema
