Data Scientist — Crop Analytics
About the Role
SelfCrops is hiring a Data Scientist to build predictive models for crop yield forecasting, disease detection, and precision input recommendations using satellite imagery and field sensor data. Key Responsibilities: • Build and validate crop yield prediction models using ML/DL techniques • Process and analyse multi-spectral satellite imagery for crop health assessment • Develop disease and pest risk models integrated with weather data • Create data pipelines for field sensor and drone data ingestion • Build interactive dashboards for agronomists and farm managers • Collaborate with agronomy teams to validate model recommendations
Requirements
• B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or Agriculture Engineering • 2–4 years in agricultural data science or geospatial analytics • Proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch) • Experience with GIS tools (QGIS, Google Earth Engine) and remote sensing • Knowledge of agriculture domain — crop cycles, soil science — a strong plus
