About the Role
SelfCrops provides real-time crop disease and pest advisory to farmers. We need a Crop Disease & Pest Diagnostician to identify, diagnose, and recommend solutions for crop health issues reported by our farmer network. Key Responsibilities: • Diagnose crop diseases and pest infestations from field photos, samples, and description reports • Develop and maintain a digital crop disease library for AI-assisted diagnosis • Provide timely, actionable advisory to farmers via the platform • Conduct field validation visits for complex or repeated crop health issues • Collaborate with the data science team to train AI disease detection models • Prepare pest and disease alert bulletins for farmer communication
Requirements
• M.Sc Plant Pathology, Entomology, or Agriculture with specialisation in crop protection • 2–5 years field experience in crop disease diagnosis and IPM • Strong knowledge of major crops in Andhra Pradesh — paddy, groundnut, chilli, tomato • Experience with microscopy, disease identification keys, and field diagnostic kits • Ability to write clear advisory content in Telugu and English
