Database Manager
About the Role
NuSummit is looking for an experienced Database Manager to oversee enterprise database environments for critical financial and technology clients. Key Responsibilities: • Manage and administer Oracle and SQL Server databases across Dev/QA/Prod environments • Design and implement database architectures, schemas, and data models • Perform performance tuning: query optimization, indexing strategy, execution plan analysis • Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies (RAC, Always On, RMAN) • Implement database security: user access control, auditing, encryption, and compliance • Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patching • Mentor junior DBAs and establish DBA best practices and standards About NuSummit: NuSummit's data management team handles mission-critical database environments for banks, trading firms, and enterprise technology companies.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience: • 6+ years DBA experience with Oracle (12c/19c) and/or SQL Server (2016/2019) • Expert-level performance tuning: query analysis, indexing, partitioning, execution plans • Strong HA/DR knowledge: Oracle RAC, Data Guard, SQL Server Always On, Log Shipping • Backup and recovery expertise with RMAN and SQL Server backup strategies • Database security: TDE, auditing, role-based access control, and compliance (GDPR, SOX) • Scripting skills (PL/SQL, T-SQL) for automation and complex data operations • OCP or equivalent certification preferred
